I have a home between the mountains and the sea, with some gum trees, a chicken or two, an assortment of whatever family members are home and a cat named Mr Bingley.
I am a teacher. I began my teaching life in the early childhood arena and as my children have grown I have grown with them, learning and teaching right alongside them into the primary and secondary years. In their tertiary years I have stepped into the role of proofreader, editor and encourager. Very early on in my teaching vocation I was drawn to the ideas of Charlotte Mason. Her pedagogical insights were like light, water, and air to the current utilitarian practices I had been immersed in both as student and teacher. Her ideas breathed life. I have been studying her works, philosophy and practice for the past 18 years and have tried to practice those insights in my life, my home, my children's learning, my teaching, and my classroom. A Pleasant Place is the fruit of my educational journey with Charlotte Mason. I hope you enjoy spending time in this place. And learn some good things for life, learning, and teaching.
