The heart of education is personal.
The art of learning and teaching well draws the heart, head, and hands into growth, knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. This is true for both students and teachers. Education matters because it is personal. It impacts the relationships with both people and ideas, skills for work and life, and how we understand and know God, ourselves, humanity,
and our world. Education orders our affections.
My life as a lifelong learner, home educating mother, classroom teacher, and curriculum developer has grown from this idea that education is personal. What I have learned has impacted me as a person, a woman, a daughter and mother and wife, a teacher.
Education is meant to have this impact.
It all begins with wonder, curiosity, and open doors to pleasant places for our minds to roam.
My educational life includes
~ 20+ years experience in P-12 education and curriculum development in home education, tutoring, and classroom environments.
~ opportunities to support, encourage, and guide teachers and parents through the process of implementing and embodying Classical and Charlotte Mason education principles in their classrooms and homes.
~ research of Classical and Charlotte Mason pedagogies and development of curriculum in connection with Australian Curriculum issues and requirements.
~ building my teaching practise around the art of reading living books, narration, and socratic discussion.
